Medical Care on the French Riviera – What German/International Patients Should Know
Anyone living or vacationing on the French Riviera wants to be well-cared for in case of illness – and be able to communicate. The good news: In the Nice and Cannes region, there are numerous doctors who speak English, and some even German. Below is an overview of the most important emergency numbers, as well as a selection of medical professionals from various specialties. By the way, the emergency room in French is called "Urgences".
Medical Care Without an Appointment
If you are ill but don't require an emergency room – for example, with flu, bronchitis, or other acute complaints – you can easily visit a "Cabinet Médical" in France. These general medical practices are spread throughout the region, many are also open on weekends and accept patients without an appointment. On Google, you can quickly find a nearby practice by searching for "cabinet médical" or "médecin généraliste". Here is a small selection:
